''Find someone Who '' a very popular and practical ESL game

*Lesson : Simple Present
*Type of activity : speaking
*Objective : to practice the Simple present = Affirmative 3rd Person singular ( Jenny plays Football ) and YES-NO questions

*Time : 15 MINUTES
*Materials : Handouts ( above)
*Type of interaction : Ss-Ss interaction & Group work

Procedure

The teacher should pre-teach  all the verbs in the handout for the activity to proceed smoothly . As for the procedure of the game " Find someone who '' , it is simple . Put students in groups of  four to five ,  distribute handouts and allocate a 10 minutes task -time . Note that students should interview each other ( students from other groups of course ) to complete their lists . A DEMO is placed below :

S1 from Group A : Do you do the dishes at home ?
  S2 from Group B : No , I don't .
S1 from Group A : Do you do your homework  everyday ?
  S2 from Group B : Yes , I do .

( S1  writes his first sentence in the list ( each sentence is worth 1 score )

Final step : Each  group representative read the report produced

* Form feedback :  teacher asks each group to write 3 sentences on board and then form correction is emphasized .

Try it ! Maybe it goes wow !

HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT ''PICTURE STORIES ''??

Have you heard about '' Picture stories ''? Well , if you haven't , then you are missing a lot ! Picture stories are imagination and production generators .They trigger and provoke students' curiosity and interest , creating the need to '' summon all the linguistic input in his or her background ...In fact I tried them and the result was fascinating ; students came up with surprising sentences and a meaningful chain of speech acts !

Try them and see what you are missing !
